Writing Workshops
Literacy is truly the best gift you can give a child. We will host monthly writing workshops at your school or organization for children who love the literary arts and would like to explore and nurture their gift.
Culturatti Kids takes a creative approach to literary arts education with a variety of progressive writing workshops. Children of all ages love to meet published authors and illustrators. Through our parent company, Culturatti Ink, we will work with you to bring local and national authors, illustrators and industry professionals to your school to teach these fun, interactive workshops.
Author visits provide an educational and welcomed break from the day-to-day curriculum while giving students and memories to last a lifetime. Culturatti Kids will take care of all scheduling, travel arrangements and lodging. We want to make sure your students get the most out of each workshop so we may ask you to have following prior to your visit:
- You know your city better than we do. Any hotel recommendations or warning will be appreciated.
- Help students get excited about the visit be encouraging them to read the author/illustrators book or biography.
- An idea of what you would like your students to learn/experience.
- The number of students and teachers to be in attendance and if any of the students have special needs.
- Let us know ahead of time if you would like your author/illustrator to sign books after the presentation and how many books will be needed.
- Depending on the size of the workshop, there may be some necessary technical requirements such as projector, microphone or computer. If this is the case, please make sure all equipment is in good working order prior to each visit.
- An assigned greeter who will meet your visitor at the front office.
- Someone to introduce your visitor with a prepared introduction.
Any author or illustrator we bring to your school will be able to deliver inspiring and engaging presentations to your students. Our workshops can be adapted for students K-12 and include age appropriate music, slides, videos, puppets, and/or demonstrations to keep our audience excited and participating.
All of the authors and illustrators we work with are dedicated to encouraging your students to hone their craft, provide industry knowledge, field questions and share the joys of a professional career in literary arts.
